Our BEST Valentine's ever...

Friday night we celebrated Valentine's day by going out to eat at John's City Diner. We ordered fancy fried green tomatoes and crab cakes for our appetizers. For our entrees Josh got fried lousiana oysters with mashed sweet potatoes and more fried green tomatoes, and I ordered the pecan wood smoked prime rib with mashed potatoes and green beans. And OMG! One of the BEST steaks I have EVER put in my mouth! And I swear it was HUGE and like 2 inches thick! We enjoyed all the food that we could stuff in our bellies, then we ordered coffee and a kahlua creme brulee that came with strawberries and chocolate covered espresso beans. Delish!creme brulee ! Pictures, Images and Photos

We had such a good time and really enjoyed the food and conversation. We chose to do this on Friday so that we wouldn't have to worry about all the hustle and bustle of doing it on V-day. We didn't have to wait in line anywhere or fight for a parking spot. It was sooo nice! For V-day we went to get our cars detailed...together, and walked over and ate breakfast at Jack's while we waited. I was really craving a buttery biscuit with honey and it was so yum, yum to me. We got our oil changed together and Josh got new brakes and rotors. We took my car over to Home Depot and bought our very first brand new lawnmower. It was $350, but well worth it.

We also got a weed eater, some pre-emergent for our grass, one of those seed dispersing things, a hose, a leaf blower, new blinds, etc. And believe it or not, it was soooo much fun! We then went home and took care of our yard together. I mowed while Josh did the edging and all the tedious stuff. It really was a blast. I totally enjoyed doing normal everyday things with Josh because we never get to do that stuff together! He works all the time, so this was a real nice treat for the both of us. Hope you all had as good a weekend as we did!
